Improve Yourself by Learning From Experiences

I just watched my unranked UConn Huskies get beat by heavily favored #8 Georgetown by a 3 pointer hit by the Hoyas' 7'2" center with 4.2 seconds left in the game. This is a great example of poise, confidence, and execution. I'm sitting here feeling really down because that was a really important game. But now I know that the very young Huskies squad can hang with the best teams in the country, and they will only get better from this game experience. This situation and the qualities displayed are great examples of what it takes to get ahead and come out on top.
I'm still in the early stages of my career and know that I need to have those same qualities displayed by the Georgetown center and also learn from pressure situations and experiences just like the Huskies. If you find yourself in a tough situation, what is going to define you is how you handle the situation and what you take away from it moving forward. It's really easy to get comfortable and fall back into unproductive patterns, which is why you need to continually find ways to improve yourself.
If you've ever worked out you should know that if your workouts consist of the same routine each time, your body gets used to exercises and you won't get optimal results. When you continually define new goals, stick to accomplishing them, and mix up your routine, then you will get optimal results at a much faster rate. Same can be said for accomplishing career goals. You should always be learning from experiences and looking for ways to improve your productivity in order to get ahead.
Look at the Patriots...they find ways to improve themselves every week and they're perfect. Let's hope they improve all the way to they're 4th Super Bowl ring in this decade. GO PATS!
